We offer patient surgery text updates, visitor waiting rooms and other amenities for our guests who are visiting our hospital in Orange Park.

Visitor information

This information is designed to answer some of the most frequently asked questions of our visitors.

Visitor policies and procedures

If your visitors need assistance with directions or visitation information, an auxiliary member at our information desk can assist them. Just call (904) 639-8559.

If a patient would like to restrict their visitors in any way, or has special needs in handling visitors, advise the nurse of these needs and they will make appropriate arrangements for handling the visitors.

Visiting hours

General visiting hours are 8:30am to 8:30pm.

Other visiting hours

Certain departments have different visiting hours and rules. Some of these are listed below for your convenience, but please talk to your nurse or our information desk for further details if needed.

Behavioral health department visiting hours

  • Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday: 5:00pm to 6:00pm
  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday: No visiting hours
  • National holidays: 5:00pm to 6:00pm

Critical care department visitor rules

Two visitors at a time are allowed to visit and no children under age 12 (without special permission) are permitted.

Please contact the nurses with regards to visiting times, but, in general, there is open visitation except for during shift changes. Know that the ICU staff may limit the length of visitation based on the patient’s condition and the need for rest.

Emergency department visiting hours

Visitors for patients in the emergency department must check with the emergency room front desk staff before entering the emergency patient care area. They must also obtain a visitor badge.

Labor and delivery department visiting hours

Visitation hours for this department are open at all times.

Obstetrics department visiting hours

Family members free of illness and infection are encouraged to visit between 8:30am and 8:30pm.

Overnight visitation

Overnight visitors shall be responsible for providing their own personal necessities and are asked to stay within the parameters of the patient care area and maintain a quiet environment as a courtesy to all patients. Overnight visitation is at the discretion of the nursing staff and based on patient condition.

Bringing children to visit a patient

An adult visitor must continuously supervise children younger than 12 years of age.

Visitor waiting areas

Waiting areas are located throughout the facility to accommodate family and friends waiting to visit patients. We request that no one stay overnight in these areas because of limited space.

Dress code for visitors

All visitors, including children, are expected to dress appropriately – which includes shirts and shoes.

Gift shop

Our hospital gift shop is open seven days a week. A variety of items are available, including greeting cards, magazines, newspapers, flowers, baby gifts, stuffed animals, fine gifts, candy, toiletries and more.
