Universal precautions

A safe emergency room experience

We know how important it is for our patients to have their loved ones with them while they receive medical care. As we balance that need with the need to keep everyone safe, we are following this temporary visitation policy:

  • One visitor between the hours of 8:30am-8:30pm for all patients not in isolation.
  • No children.
  • No overnight visitors, with the exception of pediatrics, NICU, obstetrics, patient advocates post-surgery and end of life/hospice patient.
  • Virtual visitation options are available for patients in isolation.
  • Two visitors allowed for pediatrics, NICU and obstetrics patients.

You may enter through the ER or main entrance. Visitors whose loved ones have are having surgery should accompany them through the dedicated surgical services entrance.

We recommend and encourage virtual communication with loved ones through the use of digital platforms and apps like FaceTime, Facebook Messenger, Zoom, Google Hangouts, Skype, WhatsApp, Viber, etc.

Circumstances may allow for specific exceptions to any visitation restrictions described on this webpage. Those circumstances include religious visitation as well as a designated support person for a patient with a disability to provide assistance with communication or other necessary components of the patient's treatment. All persons entering under an exception remain subject to appropriate infection control protocols.
