Injuries

  • Serious burn or deep wound
  • Loss of movement in body part
  • Numbness or tingling sensation
  • Broken bone or major swelling
  • Excessive bleeding

Stomach Pain

  • Hard or swollen belly
  • Severe vomiting or vomiting with blood
  • Slurred speech
  • Severe diarrhea or blood in stool
  • In extreme pain

Headaches

  • Don't improve with medication
  • Last several hours
  • Limits normal activities
  • Experiencing confusion, blurred vision or trouble walking

Trouble Breathing

  • Breathing rapidly
  • Gasping for breath
  • Can't breath lying down
  • Blueish lips or fingernails
  • Trouble speaking

Falls

  • Neck pain or stiffness
  • Dizziness, vomiting or drowsiness
  • Slurred speech
  • Changes in personality or behavior
  • Suddenly hard to wake up, too sleepy or confused

Fever

  • Greater than 104
  • Under three months old: temperature above 100.4
  • Temperature above 102 for two or more days
  • Fever isn't responding to medication
