Orange Park Medical Center is specially equipped Electrophysiology Lab to complement its existing broad range of cardiac services. The Heart & Lung Center’s EP lab boosts the latest technology for diagnoses and treatment of cardiac rhythm management disorders.
In the EP lab, the heart’s electrical behaviors are diagnosed with a minimally invasive heart test. With these results, Orange Park’s dedicated team of specialists evaluate heart rhythms and provide treatment options for a host of cardiac rhythm management disorders that can cause abnormal electrical conductions in the heart.
Symptoms and Diagnoses
- Weakened heart muscle, fatigue and dizziness
- Heart arrhythmias (atrial fibrillation)
- Heart blocks
Treatment options may include implantation of special devices like pacemakers or defibrillators to keep the heart beating normal or converting the patient out of the abnormal rhythm. Heat on the location where the abnormal rhythm develops to correct the rhythm may also be used.
Complex Electrophysiology Procedures
- 3D – Electrical Mapping
- Lead extractions
