Travis Cummings elected to OPMC's Board of Trustees

Clay County Commissioner Travis Cummings has been elected to a three-year term on the Board of Trustees for Orange Park Medical Center. At their December meeting, the Board of Trustees also elected board members Ted McGowan and Mark Spatola, M.D., to each serve a second three-year term. Spatola was elected to serve as moderator, and board member Virginia Hall was elected vice-chair.
Travis Cummings is President of Cummings Consulting Group, Inc, where he provides financial planning for individuals/businesses and broker services for employer group benefit plans. Cummings is the current Chairman of the Clay County Commission. In November 2008, voters elected him to serve as the District 3 Commissioner.
Cummings is a fourth generation Clay County native. He has lived in Orange Park District 3 for more than 30 years. He and his wife, Jessica, are graduates of Orange Park High School.
Cummings graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and worked for a Jacksonville CPA firm after graduation. He then worked for several years as a Corporate Controller for the Northeast Florida headquarters of the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast. During this time he obtained his Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of North Florida.
Cummings has invested much time over his career to community involvement, assuming leadership roles with both civic and charitable organizations. His extensive civic involvement includes serving as Orange Park Mayor in 2004.
The Orange Park Medical Center Board of Trustees serves as the local governing body delegated with specific authority and responsibility to ensure quality medical care for the community. The board also serves in an advisory and oversight capacity to the medical staff and hospital administration.
